Reading The Pursuit of Home was a little bittersweet. On the one hand, it was refreshing to read Scott Harris’s guide for navigating the home buying process, and how to manage the emotional roller coaster that comes with it. The bitterness came from wishing I had read this before purchasing my first home!
From setting the vision for what home really means to you, to navigating nuts-and-bolts pitfalls like inspections and negotiations, this book is essential for any home buyer. We pulled out of a deal for a New England farmhouse that we thought was our “dream home” because of foundation issues found in the inspection, only to find our true home that has seen so many of our life dreams realized, The Pursuit of Home would have gotten us there with far less mess and stress. And now I’m sending a copy to my parents as they look to downsize and find their next home!
